A kind and beautiful goddess visits college student Keichi Morisato and says she will grant him a single wish. At first Keichi thinks she is mocking him, but he soon realizes just how kind and sincere Belldandy really is. Keichi says that if such a thing were really possible, he would wish that a girl like her would be with him always. Could such a wish come true...?
Anime Releases
OAV '93 -
The Oh My Goddess! OAV (original animation video) is a warm and funny
5-part miniseries based on Kosuke Fujishima's popular manga (comic
book). It's a true-love romantic-comedy with a little bit of
everything; slapstick, drama, beautiful women in bathing suits, and of
course - motorcycle racing!
TV '97 - A TV version of Oh! My Goddess! called Chichai tte Koto wa Benri da Ne (Being Small is Convenient) was made in Japan in '97-'98. This version consists entirely of short comedy sketches with all the characters in chibi (miniature) form. It was based on the short 4-panel gag strips that are scattered throughout the Oh! My Goddess! manga series. The Oh My Goddess: The Adventures of the Mini-Goddesses manga and DVD are available in English.
Movie '00 -
The Ah! Megami-sama! movie was released in theatres in Japan in
2000 and on home video in North America on November 27, 2001. In
the film, a person from Belldandy's past reappears, and Belldandy and
Keichi's love faces it's strongest test ever. The film is more
serious, compared to the usually humourous tone of the manga and OAV, but
it's also very beautiful. Although Dark Horse and AnimEigo sell the manga
and OAV respectively under the title of "Oh! My Goddess!", Pioneer is
selling the movie under the more literal translation "Ah! My Goddess".
TV '05 - A new TV version of Oh My Goddess began airing in Japan on January 6, 2005. This TV version starts from the beginning of the story when Keiichi and Belldandy meet, then carries through a number of great stories based on the fabulous manga. A second season of episodes aired in the spring of 2006.
Oh My
Goddess! Manga

I would put OMG! in my all-time top 10. It's a fun series with gorgeous art and wonderful characters. Fujishima's manga work is fantastic. Everything is rendered with amazing accuracy, from the details of an engine sparkplug to the folds of Belldandy's dress. Yet the inhabitants of this comic book world are far from mechanical - every character is drawn with warmth and humour. In the first edition of the English release of this manga, the order of the chapters was rearranged to match the OAV video version. There are over 30 volumes of Aa! Megami-sama! manga in Japanese, so fans can look forward to many hours of enjoyment following the wonderful escapades of Keichi, Belldandy, Skuld and Urd.
The Japanese-to-English translator, Toren Smith, wrote "I wanted to work on Oh My Goddess! because it is a rarity in the comics world--a book that is aimed at both boys and girls. I've always wanted to try and get more girls to read comics, and OMG! has done very well in that area, with almost half of our fan mail coming from young women. A romantic sitcom with superb artwork, OMG! is especially suitable for juvenile readers, but my grandmother is a big fan, so..."
