The graphic novel A,A' contains a series of short but interlinked sci-fi stories centered around the concepts of gender and relationships in a future society where cloning of both bodies and memories is practiced. For example, in the first story a clone is awoken to replace a woman who as died while on a space exploration mission but there is a three-year gap between when the cloning information was recorded and when the woman died. How will the clone step into a life where three years are missing? Moto Hagio is a veteran creator of manga stories and is especially noted for providing a feminine perspective in science fiction.
