Sagara Sousuke, a young sergeant in a secret paramilitary organization, is sent undercover to guard a beautiful high school girl named Kaname Chidori who may be targeted by kidnappers. Although he soon develops feelings for her, Sagara has spent his entire life in the military and knows nothing about how ordinary people act! However, Sagara has no time to worry about such things as the kidnapping situation quickly becomes deadly serious. Full Metal Panic is an excellent series that has everything you'd expect from a good Japanese anime: great characters, cool mechanical designs, awesome action, and a perfect blend of serious plot with hilarious romantic misadventure.
Full Metal Panic consists of 24 TV episodes, followed by the 15 episode 'Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu?', and the 13-part Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid. While the original series had a unique blend of comedy and serious aspects, Fumoffu was all-comedy and The Second Raid was almost entirely serious.
