In his underground laboratory, the mysterious professor
called his
assistant, Kaolinite.
"What is our purpose?", he quizzed her.
"Find the Sacred Chalice and conquer the world," she replied with
a confident smile.
The professor
reiterated the steps they needed to accomplish their goal. Three
talismans are hidden in the pure hearts of certain individuals.
The possessor of the talismans will learn the location of the Chalice
and be able to use its power. The professor created another egg
of Daimon and sent it out to find a pure heart...

Usagi was having a dream. The other senshi were teasing
her
about not being able to transform. "Maybe you've been studying
too hard? Not getting enough naps, Usagi?"
"I think it's time for you to retire,"
said Rei. Usagi got really mad.

In her dream she lunged at Rei but really she was
strangling
Luna. Luna scratched Usagi's face until Usagi woke up.

"It was just a dream. Oh Luna, will I have to retire
from the
Sailor Senshi?" Usagi asked. "What if the light never comes back to the
Silver Crystal?"
"Don't worry Usagi,"replied Luna, "everything will be okay."
But
Usagi didn't seem very reassured.
"Why don't you talk to Mamoru-san
about it?" suggested Luna.

Mamoru didn't know how she could get her power back, but
he didn't like
to see Usagi feeling so down.
"I know," he said suddenly, "Come on,
I've got something to show you."

| Mamoru led her to an old abandoned mansion. There
was a high
wall around the house but it had crumbled in places. Usagi and
Mamoru entered through a gap in the wall. Usagi looked around
at the quiet empty yard.

"Oh, I
know why
you brought me here!" exclaimed Usagi. She started blushing. "Oh,
Mamo-chan you just wanted to take me somewhere where we could be
alone..." Mamoru looked scared.

Usagi closed her eyes and puckered up for a kiss, but
Mamoru was actually holding a kitten which licked Usagi's face.
Usagi was very
surprised! After
she finished screaming, she realized it was a cat. "Oh it's so
cute!"
Mamoru explained that many stray cats had found a home here.

There was a little girl who always came and fed the
cats. Mamoru
had bought some cat food to help her. Usagi was very happy
because Mamoru was so kind.
The little
girl said that the abandoned mansion was going to be demolished soon,
so
Usagi
said she would find new homes for all the cats. Mamoru was
surprised at how
easily Usagi seemed to forget her problems. He also thought it
would
be
hard to find new homes for so many cats, but since Usagi seemed happy
he
didn't say anything.

Meanwhile... the professor's Daimon egg
floated through the open window of a bedroom. There was a desk in
the room with an
almost-completed jigsaw puzzle on
top. The egg merged itself into the puzzle which was a picture
of a cat.

After visiting the cat mansion, Usagi joined the other
girls at Rei's house for a study session. Usagi wanted them to
take care of all the stray cats!
"But I've already got Artemis," exclaimed Minako, "and
he's hard
enough to take care of!"
"Hey, what do you mean?" yelled Artemis, but
Minako bopped him on the head before he could say any more. Ami
said
she was too busy studying to take care of a cat. Mako said she
didn't
have enough money to take care of a pet. Rei said she couldn't
have a
cat at the temple, because of all the birds.

Usagi started getting really mad. "Why don't you
take them?"
asked the other girls. Usagi looked embarrassed. "Uh, well,
we already
have Luna and she's really expensive to keep because she eats so much."
"Hey who's the one who..." Luna started to yell back but
Ami stuffed
a sandwich into her mouth. Luna munched on the sandwich happily.

Meanwhile, two of the kittens had followed the little girl
from the abandoned mansion as she walked home.
"No, no - you can't come in!" scolded the little girl, "I'm not allowed
to have
animals
in the apartment." The girl looked around to see if anyone
was watching. Then she let the cats in
and said they could stay until her mother got home. The playful
kittens
started rampaging around her bedroom knocking things over.
"Hey!" the girl went to
her desk and replaced the puzzle piece that the cat had knocked
off. The puzzle started to glow, then morphed into a Daimon!
