Serena and Rini arrived at Hotaru's house. Serena was astonished because it was a huge mansion. Serena rang the doorbell. "Good..." Serena was shocked! The woman who answered the door looked exactly like Kaolinite! Serena took a step back and dropped the cookies that Lita had baked. Rini didn't understand what was wrong.
Hotaru's father came to the door and recognized Rini. "Oh, it's Hotaru's friend," said Mr. Tomoe, "Please come in." He introduced the woman who had answered the door as his assistant, Ms. Kaori. [In Japanese he called her Kaori-kun.] Serena thought something was very strange but decided that the woman couldn't be Kaolinite. Mr. Tomoe took Serena and Rini to the sitting room, then left saying that he would bring some coffee.

Tomoe walked down the hall and through a secret door. Then he put on his lab coat. Hotaru's father was actually the Death Buster's evil professor! Professor Tomoe phoned Mimette and asked if she had found the next target. Mimette panicked. She had been reading manga instead of working. Mimette looked at her manga and said that the author was her new target. He had an autograph session at a bookstore that day and so Mimette said she would intercept him there.
The professor used his new "Cormorant Strategy" daimon machine and made a daimon called "Book-Henshyu". Mimette went to the bookstore and got an autograph from the author, Ukon Katakuri. Mimette was happy because Mr. Katakuri was very handsome (even his teeth shine!).
Rini and Serena had been left alone in the sitting room for a long time and were wondering what had happened. Serena started to complain.

 Hotaru finally came into the room. She walked very slowly, holding on to the wall, but she was happy to see Rini.
Serena was shocked because she had been expecting a boy. "I never said it was a boy," Rini laughed that Serena was so easy to trick. Serena was annoyed because she had come all this way for nothing. She and Rini started arguing, which made Hotaru laugh.

 Ms. Kaori came in with the coffee. Hotaru looked very unhappy when Kaori came in. She took the tray from Kaori and took Serena and Rini to her room.
Hotaru said that her father was a scientist and that Ms. Kaori was his assistant. "Where is your mother?" asked Serena. Hotaru replied that she had died a long time ago. Rini and Serena were worried that the question had upset Hotaru, but she said it was alright.
