The dark blue Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon box sets from ADV contain the first two seasons of the original Japanese version of Sailor Moon, with English subtitles. The first season is complete and uncut. The second season (R) is missing episode 67. This episode was part of the original run of Sailor Moon in Japan but was dropped from later home video releases because its style did not fit in with the rest of the show. All other episodes are uncut. These box sets are the only official release of Sailor Moon seasons 1 and 2 uncut with English subtitles.

Sailor Moon S and SuperS box sets were released by Geneon (previously known as Pioneer). The episodes are uncut and both English and Japanese soundtracks are included, with optional English subtitles. These DVDs are also sold seperately.

4. Sailor Moon SuperS (Season 4)

The Movie box set contains all three movies (R, S and SuperS). Each movie is a complete stand-alone story. Japanese and English audio tracks are included along with optional English subtitles.

5. Movies

These box sets are the only officially licensed Sailor Moon box sets for the USA. Other sets you may see offered are unauthorized copies. Legitimate American DVDs are coded for Region 1 DVD players (USA & Canada). Any Sailor Moon DVD claiming to be 'Region-Free' is an unauthorized copy. Unfortunately there is no official Region 1 release for Sailor Stars (Season 5).
